Hall Hire

The Diamond Scout Centre is the headquarters of Tadley Scouts, it is a modern brick building with surrounding outdoor space and a dedicated small parking area, situated in Tadley to the side of the Southdown Road Playing field.

The building is available for hire by individuals or groups, on an occasional or regular basis. We offer several different options regarding the areas of the building available to hire. Please read on to learn more about the facilities we offer and how to book.

Our Facilities

The Halls

We have 2 halls of different sizes that can be hired seperately or together, both halls benefit from high level windows along the rear wall and daylight tubes positioned in the ceiling running centrally throughout the spaces.
There are a couple of double power sockets located around the perimeter of each hall.

The Brian Spray Hall - 39ft x 23ft (12m x 7m), spacious hall with 2 fire doors; which must remain unobstructed at all times, and Scout section noticeboards on 1 wall.

The Small Hall - 23ft x 16ft (7m x 5m), spacious hall with single entry access point & display cabinet in the corner.

Available Equipment

There is a central store room accessed from the entrance lobby where you can access plastic shell stacking chairs (there is a chair trolley to aid with moving them) and a number of small and large rectangular tables with folding leg frames.

We have WiFi available at the building.

Both halls have the facility of a projector screen should you require it. You can also request to use our PA system.

PLEASE NOTE: We do not have a copyright license so you are not able to play copyrighted music or films.

Communal Facilities

As well as the entrance lobby area and corridoors there is a communal kitchen 12ft x 10.5ft (4m x 3m) located between the 2 halls with serving hatches to both halls for ease of use, the kitchen hosts a double sink & drainer, fridge, large range cooker, microwave, kettle & hot water urn, separate hand washing sink and a variety of cupboards housing crockery & cuttlery etc. We also provide washing up liquid and j cloths.

There are seperate toilet facilities for Male, Female & Disabled, each includes a shower facility as well as toilet cubicles, hand washing sinks and electric hand driers.

The grounds provide outdoor space for activities / games & adjacent is the Southdown Road playing field which affords a larger open space for games and activities.

Environmental Protection

As part of the buildings energy efficiency credentials we have solar panels and a thermostatically controlled under floor heating pipes system, most of our lighting is controlled by movement sensors, with the extract fans in the toilets being linked to these.
We request that hall hirers remove their own rubbish and recycling to dispose of.

The building is fully protected by automatic fire and security alarms and is equipped with fire extinguishers and emergency doors with crash bars. All doors within the building are fire doors.
The halls both benefit from a vinyl safety floor covering that offers a practical floor surface for all activities.

Accessibility

The building is fully accessible to disabled users with wide doors, flat door seals and wide corridoors.

The disabled toilet meets all requirements with grab handles, emergency help pull cord and sit down shower.
